PURPOSE: A maintenance electrode for plasma display is provided to increase the contrast of the PDP owing to a discoloring of the electrode, and to improve the brightness owing to an increase in the electrode resistivity. CONSTITUTION: A maintenance electrode for plasma display includes first and second plates(1). On the first plate, a maintenance electrode formed with a transparent electrode(16) and a metal electrode(17), and a dielectric layer(8), and a protection layer(9) are implemented. An address electrode is allocated on the second plate in the direction of crossing the maintenance electrode. A compartment dividing a discharge area is formed between the first and the second electrodes. The metal electrode is formed on the transparent electrode and a part of the metal electrode is adjacent to a surface of the first plate. |
