The general arrangement consists of a series of brake discs and brake pads assembled in a compact constructional form. The brake discs are form-lock fitted on the drive shaft and mounted to move on the shaft by means of teeth. The brake pads are located between the brake discs and fixed by lobes in the brake housing. When the brakes are applied the brake discs are pads are pressed together.
