[Also in Division F2] A distributing head for an 'expresso' type coffee-making machine has a rotatable cam 6 in a chamber 14 communicating, via duct 4, with an infusion container support 12 and fed with hot water, under control of a valve 5, from a chamber 20 and a cavity 3 to which hot water is supplied under pressure, manual rotation of cam 6 away from the position shown opening the valve 5 by engaging its stem 16 and simultaneously allowing valves 7, 10 in an extension 13 to close under the influence of springs 8 and 19. When pressure in chamber 14 reaches 1¢ and 7 atmospheres, respectively, valve 7 opens to release water to chamber 9 and valve 10 opens to relieve pressure through port 13d. The valve stems 16, 22, 17 are of ribbed, preferably-cruciform, cross-section. A manually operable clearing pin 1 is provided above the bore 2a leading to chamber 20.</p> |
