PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a sheet feeding action by providing a pressure adjusting means adjusting the pressure for pressing a separation rotor to a conveyance rotor. SOLUTION: A pressure spring 15 is extended or shrunk by a mechanism moving the end section position of the pressure spring 15 on the opposite side to a retard roller 13 to adjust the pressure for pressing the retard roller 13 to a feed roller 12 via the elastic force of the pressure spring 15 in a pressure adjusting means 24. The abrasion state of the friction coefficient between the feed roller 12 and the retard roller 13 is detected based on the time until a sheet P reaches a pre-feed sensor from the re-try state of a feeding action, and the pressure for pressing the retard roller 13 to the feed roller 12 is adjusted, thus the optimum feed pressure is obtained, and the life of the feed roller 12 and the retard roller 13 can be prolonged.
