PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the assembly operations of a spool consisting of a cylindrical member wound with a tape or the like and two left and right side plate members connected to both the ends of this cylindrical member. SOLUTION: One side 2 out of both symmetrical side plate members 2 and 3 is made up into a disk form with a center hole 21 being almost corresponding to an axial hole of a cylindrical member 1, in the central part, while two connecting pieces 22 and 23 being paralleled with each other in a part of this center hole 21 are integrally formed so as to traverse almost the central part of the center hole 21. These two connecting pieces 22 and 23 are formed into structure separated from an edge part of the center hole 21, while the other side plate member 3 should be formed into a disk form with the center hole 21 of the same size as the center hole 21 of the side plate member 2 on one side. The side plates 2 and 3 are pressed to both the ends of the cylindrical member 1 and the connecting pieces 22 and 23 of the side plate member 2 on one side are bent, passing through them into the axial hole of the cylindrical member 1, and the tip part is joined and locked to a peripheral edge of another center hole 31 of the side plate member 3 on the other, and thus a spool 4 is constituted.
