PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer including a polyolefin such as a polypropylene, etc., with enhanced antioxidant characteristics, processability and heat stability by adding a specific compound to the polymer. SOLUTION: A polymer is mixed with preferably 0.01-5 wt.%, more preferably 0.01-0.5 wt.%, especially preferably 0.05-0.25 wt.% based on the polymer of a compound of formula I [R is H, a lower alkyl or phenyl; Ar is a monocyclic or condensed polycyclic aromatic group containing <=15 cyclic atoms; A is S or a group of formula II (R1 and R2 are each H, a lower alkyl or phenyl); m is 0-2; with the proviso that when A is the group of formula II, m is 0]. The compound is preferably 2-(4'-methoxyphenyl)-1,3-dithiane, 2-(4'- nitrophenyl)-1,3-dithiane, 2-(2',4'-dimethylphenyl-1,3-dithiane, 2-(4'-n-dodecyloxy-3'- methoxyphenyl-1,3-dithiolane, 1,6-hexamethylene-bis[2'-methoxy-4'-(2"-(1",3"- dithianyl))-1-phenoxide, etc.
