PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily fix boots to a surfer's feet, easily adjust the boots to the feet, and hold the formation of uppers or an inner shoe by providing a layer formed of material with a low coefficient of friction in an area where a cross flap overlaps a small tongue-like member. SOLUTION: Uppers 4 of boots 1 are covered with or formed of deformable material such as leather, cloth, woven fabric or the like. A cross flap 47 and a small tongue-like member 6 are covered with the above material and at least one of these elements is provided with a layer 11 of material with a low coefficient of friction in an area where they overlap each other. To be precise, the material layer 11 is disposed and fixed on the cross flap 4' on the side directed toward the small tongue-like member 6. Further, the material layer 11 is extended only to a high part 12 of the boots 1 corresponding to the leg lower part of the surfer. By this arrangement, the use of a strap type device 7 can obtain different holding members between a lower part 13 surrounding the foot and a higher part 12 surrounding the lower leg part.
