A fitting for connecting drainage branch-vent pipes to a main vent pipe comprises an annular collar 1 having an internal peripheral wall 4 defining a cylindrical tunnel through which a main drainage pipe can pass, an external wall 2 and end walls 3, 11 enclosing a cavity embracing or partially enclosing the internal peripheral wall 4, sockets 14, 17 with axes parallel to that of the tunnel adapted to receive the ends of upper and lower vent pipes and unions 7, 8, 9, 10 to receive the ends of branch vent pipes opening into the cavity and arranged with their axes substantially intersecting the axis of the tunnel. The sockets 7, 8, 9 and 10 may be fitted with screw or other unions, or the branch pipes may be luted in place. The vent pipes are similarly luted to the sockets 14 and 17. The fitting is made of synthetic resin material and the cover 11 has a groove which mates with the top of the wall 2 and is attached to it by solvent jointing. A gap 21 in the inner flange 16 of the cover mates, when assembled, with a web 20. The main drainage pipe is a free fit in the tunnel to allow for expansion and contraction. |
