发明名称 Improved liquid sprinkler
摘要 965,941. Oscillating sprinklers. MOIST O'MATIC Inc. Jan. 16, 1962 [Jan. 31, 1961], No. 1548/62. Heading B2F. [Also in Division F2] A sprinkler in which the nozzles are oscillated in an arc by means of a water turbine acting through reduction and reversing gearing comprises a housing structure 1 enclosing a turbine 18, Fig. 1, in a compartment 4 having water inlet ports 14 and an outlet 15 to a flow chamber 12. The turbine is coupled through speed reducing gears to a driven gear member 36 in a final gear chamber above the reduction gear and flow chambers, to effect rotation of the sprinkler head, the driven gear 36 having a tubular hub 37 coaxially surrounding a flow passage extending axially through the final gear chamber from the flow chamber to the nozzle head. The initial drive gear 22, Fig. 1 (and Fig. 10, not shown), on turbine shaft 17 acts through idler gear 24 and reduction gear unit 27, Fig. 12 (not shown) to rotate a drive gear 46 on the upper end of shaft 26. This gear 46 forms part of an oscillatory drive 42, Figs. 4 and 6 (and Fig. 5, not shown) which can be rocked so that the outer gears 49, 51 alternately engage the internal toothed driven gear 36. The rocking is effected by a trip member 52 having a collar journalled on the hub 37 and a trip arm 54 which can move arcuately between two stops 55, the arm being urged to an extreme position by overcentre springs 56. The trip arm 54 engages one or other of the arms 44 of drive 42 before it engages a stop 55 and moves the drive to bring either the terminal gear 49 or the terminal gear 51 into engagement with gear 36 so as to drive the nozzles arcuately until either the non-adjustable stop 62 on gear 36, Fig. 8 (not shown) or the adjustable stop 63 on the overlying arc setting shell 59, which is attached to the gear 36, engages the trip arm 54 to force the springs 56 past centre. The other terminal is then brought into operation and reverses the rotation of the gear 36 and hence the nozzles. The spacing between stops 62, 63 determines the arc of movement which is adjustable. The nozzle unit is retractable and rises to the operating position, shown dotted in Fig. 1, under the force of the water therethrough.
