Each key is fitted with springs so that the key is at first easy to operate but then brings the second spring into operation so the remaining key travel becomes suddenly more difficult. The second spring force is taken up by an air cushion, felt or other material or plastics. T he system can be adapted to all types of valve, these ensuring an abrupt opening of the valve during the action of second spring, assuming valves to be of the soft and loud variation. The first spring sits in the valve sleeve and in coil form as opposed to the second spring set above the rear key lever arm and presenting a tensile spring.
