In a rectifying circuit for rectifying an ac current generated by a generator and feeding it to a capacitor, which is an electricity storing device, on the basis of voltages across a plurality of transistors constituting the rectifying circuit, comparators corresponding to the individual transistors effect on-off control. In this case, voltages that are level-shifted off by amounts corresponding to offset voltages by a plurality of level shifters are fed to the comparators. Here, the offset voltage is set by allowing for the response delay time for each comparator. Therefore, each transistor will never fail to turn off at the time it should turn off in relation to the voltage across the output terminals of the generator. As a result, backward current from the capacitor can be prevented. Further, the time delay in turning off each transistor is eliminated.
