A swivel office chair has a central column which rests on a bush pedestal. The bush consists of an outer cylinder with an inner ring at the core, held at a distance from the outer cylinder by a regular arrangement of ribs (5,6). The rib pattern consists of a series of V-shapes, the apex of which is attached to the core (3), and the outer tips of which are attached to the cylinder (4). A supplementary radial rib bisects each V-shape. Adjacent V-ribs are separated especially by a second radial rib (6).
