The invention concerns a method for controlling access to an electronic key, provided with a real time clock delivering a current time value (VH) to an electronic lock, within a predetermined time slot (PH) which consists in transmitting (1004) from the key to the lock the time slot (PH), the current time value (VH) and (1005) a certain quantity of electric power (E). In the lock, it consists in storing (1006) the energy transmitted (E); verifying the conformity of the current time value (VH) (1007) with the time slot (PH) and (1008) with the reference count value (VCref). If there is conformity, access is authorised, the reference count value (VCref) is updated, and the stored energy (E) is used to increment the updated reference count value, so that it operates as the current time value delivered by a real time clock.
