PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive and record digital information subjected to bit compression and transmitted by supplying bit compressed digital information to be outputted from an outputting part, as it is to the recording device. SOLUTION: A received signal is inputted to a demodulation circuit 31 and is demodulated into an original signal. The demodulated signal is inputted to an error correction circuit 32, and detection and correction of an error that takes places in a transmission line 27 are performed based on a parity signal for error correction attached by a parity attaching circuit. A video signal subjected to error correction is inputted to a terminal R side to be selected when a changeover switch 80 is recorded through a memory circuit 82. The memory capacity of the circuit 82 has capacity for at least one field, the fast received video signal is stored in a memory through frame reduction, is read from the memory at a normal speed and inputted to an expansion circuit 62. The circuit 62 performs bit expansion of a compressed video signal in accordance with discrete cosine transformation(DCT) and restores it into the original video signal.
