PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption by detecting whether a communication device is set in a transmitting or receiving phase and controlling the receiving part so as to stop the function of the receiving part if the communication device is set in the transmitting phase. SOLUTION: A detection part is prepared to detect whether a communication device is set in a transmitting phase having the transmitting right or a receiving phase having no transmitting right together with a control part which controls the receiving part so as to stop the function of the receiving part if the communication device is set in the transmitting phase. A CPU 1 of this device controls a serial interface 4, an infrared-ray device 6, etc. The device 6 has a function to emit the infrared rays in response to the signal outputted from a modem 5 and a function to receive and output the infrared rays to the modem 5. The light receiving part of the device 6 is set in a power down mode (where the driver function of the light receiving part is stopped) by the CPU 1 via a power down control line PWDWN. |
