PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of an air conditioner wherein a compressor is protected by making in an early stage a judgment of refrigerant shortage irrespectively of outside temperature. SOLUTION: A second set temperature lower than a set temperature of a compressor 1 and a set temperature of an indoor heat exchanger 4 are provided, an intermediate temperature of the indoor heat exchanger 4 is detected, and, when a predetermined time has elapsed after start of a heating operation, temperature of the compressor 1 exceeds the second set temperature and the intermediate temperature of the indoor heat exchanger 4 is lower than the set temperature, a judgment of refrigerant shortage is made and operation of the compressor 1 is stopped. Therefore, in the case wherein outside temperature is low or the like case, the judgment of refrigerant shortage is made in such an early stage as before temperature of the compressor 1 exceeds the set temperature corresponding to an allowable highest temperature of the compressor 1, and a damage of the compressor is surely prevented. |
