PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adjuvant that can maintain the ion concentration of intracellular calcium, can sense odor for a long time because it has the effect to prevent to be accustomed to the smell and is useful as a flavoring agent and a bathing agent by using a specific aminobenzoic ester derivative as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This adjuvant comprises one or two or more selected from the group consisting of methyl o-aminobenzoate, methyl o-N- methylaminobenzoate, ethyl o-aminobenzoate, benzyl o-aminobenzoate, phenylethyl o-aminobenzoate, phenylpropyl o-aminobenzoate or the like represented by the formula (R1 is a 1-8C lower alkyl, a 7-9C aralkyl; R2 is H, a 1-8C lower alkyl). The cells that sense the scent are selected from mammals, birds, reptiles, fishes, and amphibians and the composition is prepared by using the compound represented by the formula in a concentration of 0.05-5 mass %.
