PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain generation of abrasion scratch on a photoreceptor and an intermediate transfer belt. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, the intermediate transfer belt 9 is provided with a rubber layer which is ground. When the surface velocity of the photoreceptor 1 and the intermediate transfer belt 9 at a primary transfer nip part N1 are different, respectively V1 and V2, and the surface velocity of the intermediate transfer belt 9 and transfer material P are different at a secondary nip part N2, respectively V3 and V4, V1<V2 and|V3-V4|<|V1-V2|are satisfied. Since the ground trace of the intermediate transfer belt at the primary nip part N1 is directed toward the direction of rotation of the photoreceptor 1, generation of scratches on the photoreceptor 1 and the intermediate transfer belt 9 can be prevented.
