PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel article display device which can display such articles as a wristwatch or necklace openly in a store front. SOLUTION: In this safety display device for articles, a wristwatch or necklace 2 is attached to a mounting plate 1 with the clasp 2a of the wristwatch or necklace being located behind the mounting plate 1. The mounting plate 1 is located between two horizontal rails 3a and 3b, and the mounting plate 1 must be brought up from the lower rail 3b in order to detach it from the display surface. In addition, detachment of the mounting plate 1 is prevented by a horizontal bar 4 to be restricted and secured by a vertical bar 5 when locked 6.
