PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attach and detach a large control rod and a control rod driving mechanism corresponding to a large fuel assembly, and to reduce the amount and period of maintenance work in periodical inspection. SOLUTION: At a cross-shaped control rod base part 32 for connecting the lower-end part of a cross-shaped control rod blade, a spud 17 for a bayonet coupling being mounted to the tip part of the hollow piston of a control rod driving mechanism, and a socket 33 for the bayonet coupling being detachably engaged are rotatably mounted. A handle 36 is mounted to a socket 33, is rotated by 45 deg., and is coupled to the spud 17. Detachment is made in the reverse order of the attachment.
