PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an immunosuppressant hardly causing side effects, having a selective apoptosis activity, and useful for treatment of rejection symptom associated with transplantation, autoimmune disease, allergic disease or the like by using an active material selectively suppressing an activated T cell as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This immunosuppressant contains an active material such as flavonoids and chromones selectively suppressing an activated T cell, represented by formula I [R is H or hydroxy-substituted phenyl; Rha is α-L-rhamnose residue; a dotted line represent the presence (absence) of a double bond] and exemplified by a compound of formula II as an active ingredient. Preferably, a plant extract of Smilax glabra Roxb. or the like, containing the flavonoids or the chromones of formula I is used as the active ingredient, and the daily dose of the active ingredient in the case of oral administration is 1-500 mg/person. |
