PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dentifrice composition (however, toothpaste compositions are excluded) which gives original white color to teeth and can additionally give gloss, brilliance and luster to the teeth by including shellac. SOLUTION: This dentifrice composition is obtained by including a resinoid substance of shellac prepared by purifying a secretion which covers the body of Coccus lacca favorably in a proportion of generally 0.01-10 wt.%, preferably 0.1-7 wt.%, more preferably 1-5 wt.%, based on the whole weight. In addition, oil fluorides and/or microbicides (preferably chlorhexidine hydrochloride or the like) are preferably included in this composition. It is favorable that the shape of this composition is powdery, granular or liquid. |
