PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic recording and reproducing device capable of easily executing quick of data by a deep layer recorded analog signal correspond ing to the digital data. SOLUTION: Digital data are successively and alternately recorded/reproduced as the recording traces of track pitches(TPs) by two 180 deg. symmetrically arranged rotating magnetic heads Hd, Hs to be±30 deg. azimuth heads. Prior to the rotating magnetic heads Hd, a signal of an one-field period in each (4n+1) field period of an analog signal having the image contents of digital data is recorded on a deep layer at 4n TPs by one of two rotating magnetic heads Hs of 0 deg. azimuth. The deeplayer recorded analog signal is quickly reproduced by the two rotating magnetic heads Hs of 0 deg. azimuth.
