PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent aromatized desiccant having excellent hygroscopic capacity as a desiccant and capable of keeping aromaticity and capable of continuously emitting aroma over a long time. SOLUTION: An aromatized desiccant is obtained by adding porous magnesium oxide having an aromatic adsorbed thereon to a mixture of magnesium oxide and magnesium chloride to compound the same therewith and a ratio of the sum total wt. of magnesium oxide (A) and porous magnesium oxide (B) and the wt. of magnesium chloride (C) is set to [(A)+(B)]:(C)=90:10-20:80.
