摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microlens substrate for a liquid crystal display device free from the deterioration of convergence at the corner part of a lens and having a high optical efficiency, even in the case the microlens is formed to a square, or a rectangle in a plane view. SOLUTION: As for the microlens substrate for the liquid crystal display device, the microlens 3, an adhesive agent layer 4, a transparent thin plate 5 and an electrode pattern are successively arranged on a transparent substrate 2, and the liquid crystal material is held between the transparent substrate 2 and a counter substrate which is provided with a separately formed electrode pattern, the microlens 3 which is formed to nearly a square in a plane view is arranged one by one per one pixel area, and also, an opening part 6 which is made smaller than the opening of a counter black matrix 7 is formed in the center area of each microlens, and provided that a distance from the corner part of the microlens up to the opening part 6 in a diagonal direction is expressed by A, the opening part is set so that the middle point of the distance A may be positioned in the opening of the black matrix.
