摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily set up a lathe and a work piece by providing a universal joint on an end part opposed to shaft parts that are rotatable to one of a shaft part, and sliding the one in the other shaft in a nesting state to adjust the one in a direction of a driving shaft. SOLUTION: Driving shaft assembly 10 contains a first hollow shaft 12 having a first U-joint 14 and fixed to the first U-joint 14 by a joiner 16. The joiner 16 passes through a flange 18 in a radial direction of a rear end part 20 of the U-joint 14 for closing one end of the shaft 12. The U-joint 14 contains a flange yoke 22, and is pivotally fitted to a cradle 24 by a pin or a spindle 26. A hollow shaft 12 slidably accepts a second solid shaft 28 at an opening end part of its backside. A shaft holding body 32 is fixed on an end part of an inner side of the shaft 28, which is a little larger than the shaft 28. An inner surface of the shaft 28 is counter-bored 34 to a shoulder part 36 in a radial direction, and the shaft 28 slides from a retracting position to a protruding position for engaging with the shoulder part 36 to come and go in the shaft 12. Accordingly, it is possible to fix on a headstock of a lathe with the U-joint 14, and to fix on a work piece with a U-joint 38.
