PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for information service is provided to search rapidly multimedia data by using a device for supplying news information within a short time. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for information service comprises a user terminal(10), an information provision portion(20), an information database(30), a user profile database(40), a user information database(50), and an information provider terminal(60). The user terminal comprises a web browser. The information provision portion searches and classifies automatically the user's desired information. The information database stores the searched information. The user profile database stores a user profile. The user information database stores the user information. The information provider terminal provides the information to the information provision portion.
