PURPOSE: A method and apparatus of heating a radiation beam are provided to uniformly maintain the temperature of molten polymer supplied to a radial pack and thereby to manufacture a gray yarn, which has a high quality and a uniformity in physical property, with polymers highly sensitive to temperature. CONSTITUTION: A method and an apparatus of heating a radiation beam are disclosed. A molten polymer supplying pipe (4) connects a gear pump (2) feeding the molten polymer at a constant weight from an extruder (1), and a radial pack (3) in a detachable manner. The molten polymer supplying pipe (4) is located in a closed space (5) which is controllable in opening and closing. Around the space (5), a heat medium (6) is contained for heating its bottom and side portions and a closed heating room (8) with a submerged electric heater. On a detachable upper wall (9), which defines a ceiling of the space (5), a heating means (10), such as an electric heater, is installed. The bottom and side portions of the closed space (5) is indirectly heated by a radial heat of the vapors. The molten polymer supplying pipe (4) is heated by maintaining the upper portion of the space (5) warm. The air indirectly heated by the radial heat of the fruit vapors is directly heated by the heating means, such as an electric heater, at the upper portion of the space (5). |
