PURPOSE: A method for welding a shadow mask to a rail for a flat Brown tube is provided to prevent deformation and damage to a shadow mask, and to improve welding strength and accuracy. CONSTITUTION: In process for manufacturing a flat Brown tube, front face of a rail(3) is fixed to inner face of a panel(1). A shadow mask(4) is fixed to rear face of the rail(3). In the first step for welding the shadow mask(4) to the rail(3), a spot welding is performed between the shadow mask(4) and rail(3), so that they do not vibrate. Next, the second spot welding is performed between the shadow mask(4) and rail(3) to increase the fixing power. Thereby, the shadow mask(4) is not deformed and damaged, and the welding strength and accuracy can be improved.
