PURPOSE: A real time connecting position discernment circuit of a rotary switch is provided for detecting a connection status of a switch in a control system utilizing a microprocessor and a more effective utilization of the microprocessor. CONSTITUTION: A real time connecting position discernment circuit of a rotary switch according to the present invention comprises a first switch (RSW1) and a second switch (RSW2) for outputting signals with respect to each connecting point, a switch on/off monitoring means for monitoring the on/off operation of the first and the second switches (RSW1, RSW2), a first buffer (U1) and a second buffer (U2) connected to the plurality of switches in parallel for outputting the signal with respect to a predetermined switch, recognizing means for determining the position connected to the on/off switch according to the signals read by the first and the second buffers (U1, U2), and switch selecting means for selecting the plurality of switches in order under a control of the recognizing means when the switch is on/off by the switch on/off monitoring means.
