The vehicle roof is made from a series of transverse rigid panels (3) hinged by sections of a connecting membrane (4) with shoes on the edges of alternate hinges that slide in guide rails at the sides of the roof. The hinges allow the panels to adopt a more or less vertical position in a series of accordion pleats when the roof is open. The hinges are formed by a single membrane running through the middle of the panels.
