Disclosed is a plastic bushing (1) used to join plastic pipes (4) that have the same or approximately the same diameter for pressure-conducting fluids such as drinking water or waste water. Said bushing is provided with an enlargement (2) and a sealing ring (5) together with a clamping ring (6) for pressure tight, longitudinal non-positive accommodation of a plastic pipe (4) that is to be connected. A reducing section (3) is provided on said bushing (1) between the enlargement (2) and the plastic pipe (4) that is to be connected. The bushing (1) is also provided with a reinforcement (7) that receives radial pressure forces. The reinforcement (7) is imbedded into the plastic of said bushing (1) as an integral component.
