The play seat has a wheel-mounted support plate(20), a fixture(40) accommodating the seat(42), connecting pieces(28) on a rear section(24) of the support plate for connection to a horizontal frame(18) of the shopping trolley(16) lying close to the ground, and a pivotable connection(26) in the form of a hinge between the two sections(22,24) of the support plate. Through-holes are formed in the two sections of the support and lie one above the other with the sections in the folded state to allow fitting of a hanging hook.
