<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the travel controller for vehicles which can secure a safe drive at a branch point and improve the reliability of steering control. SOLUTION: Map information including branch point positions of roads is stored in a map data base 4, a current position calculation part 3 detects the current position and travel direction of a vehicle to read the branch point position in the travel direction out of the map data base 4, and a distance calculation part 5 calculates the needed distance from the current position to the branch point. When the needed distance reaches a 1st reference distance D1 here, a steering control reset in-advance notification part 9 gives a notice of the resetting of the steering control on the road extending ahead the current position by using a sound device 2 and when a steering control in-advance resetting judgement part 7 judges that the needed distance reaches a 2nd reference distance D2 shorter than the 1st reference distance D1, a steering control reset part 35 resets the steering control.</p> |
