PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily generate a picture having brightness required for processing in a short time. SOLUTION: Each picture element data of a picture inputted to an external camera unit is inputted to a barrel shifter 18 and is multiplied a prescribed. The picture of only one frame of a brightness adjustment picture generated by this multiplication processing is stored in a frame buffer 21, and following pictures are inputted to a comparison processing circuit 19 and are compared with the picture stored in the frame buffer 21. This comparison processing is performed between respective corresponding picture elements of both pictures, and an addition circuit 20 adds a prescribed adjustment variable to each picture element data B of the stored picture in accordance with the comparison result. An adjustment picture generated by this addition processing is outputted to a monitor for display through a selector 22. Simultaneously, data stored in the frame buffer 21 is rewritten with this adjustment picture.
