PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the waste of recording paper owing to a halfway stop by starting both-surface recording from the point of time when both-surface recording onto one page of recording paper is guaranteed in the case both- surface transmission is selected. SOLUTION: A both-surface reading selecting button 22 selects the both- surface reading of an original at the side of a transmitter. When the button 22 is depressed, a depression pulse is generated in a signal line 22a. A control circuit 20 controls whole facsimile equipment capable of both-surface transmitting, both-surface reading and both-surface recording. In this case, a recording operation is started at the point of time when the reception of at least two pages is ended in the case both-surface transmission is designated from the transmitter. Unless it is designated from the transmitter, control for starting a starting operation is executed at the point of time when the reception of at least one page is ended. Besides, control for starting the recording operation is executed at the point of time when the reception of at least two pages is ended when forcible both-surface recording is selected at a receiver side.
