PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode rotating drive device for an X-ray tube capable of rotating an anode in the same circuit configuration, regardless of two or three of the phase number of a fixed coil for an X-ray anode rotating drive mechanism. SOLUTION: This drive device is equipped with a DC power source 10, an inverter circuit 20 for converting the DC power source 10 to AC voltage, a vector conversion means 37 for controlling and turning on and off a plurality switching elements for constituting the inverter circuit 20 and generating a three-phase AC signal or a two- phase AC signal, and a three-phase/two-phase selector means. A three-phase AC signal is outputted from the vector conversion means 37 via the selection of the selector means when X-ray tubes 40 and 41 have a three-phase anode rotation mechanism. Then, three-phase AC voltage is generated from the inverter circuit on the basis of the three-phase AC signal, and fed to the anode rotation mechanism of the X-ray tube having the three-phase anode rotation mechanism. When the X-ray tube has a two-phase anode rotation mechanism, a two-phase AC signal is outputted and two- phase AC voltage is generated on the basis of the AC signal, to feed the generated voltage to the anode rotation mechanism of the X-ray tube having a two-phase anode rotation mechanism.
