PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user side to unnecessitate the preparation of the latest map data by transferring the present position and a destination from a user side terminal to a road guiding center and performing route searching. SOLUTION: When a user inputs a destination by using a pen B01 for input, a portable terminal B07 transmits the present position, optical axis direction data and the destination to a road guiding center B11 through a portable telephone B08 and an OCN network. The center B11 searches for a route from the present position to the destination based on the received information while referring to a map database B09. The center B11 transmits information (direction, distance, etc.), on a via place and information in a visible area to the terminal B07 of the user through the OCN network and the telephone B08. A user side system B10 superimposes the direction and distance to the via place and the information around the present position upon video from a camera B03 and displays them on a monitor B05.
