PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which has a practical and amusable function by building a pedometer function into the camera to connect them together and controlling the image processing based on the total number of steps. SOLUTION: This camera consists primarily of a part to be used exclusively for the camera, a part to be exclusively used for a pedometer and a common part to be used in common for both camera and pedometer. A CPU 40 generalizes and controls every circuit of the camera and also has a counter circuit which counts the steps. A vibration detection part 48 generates in relation to the walking actions to serve as a vertical/horizontal detection means the camera or a camera shake detection means. Then the CPU 40 counts the signals related with the walking actions which are inputted from the part 48 by its internal counter, outputs the pedometer data showing the total number of steps and the calorie consumed according to the total number of steps to a display part 46, records the pedometer data in a photographing mode and then executes the image processing based on the pedometer data in a reproduction mode respectively.
