PURPOSE:To supply power to an electrochemical cell so as to be capable of automatically correcting the voltage supplied to the heater of an oxygen detector regardless of the distance between the oxygen detector and a signal converter. CONSTITUTION:In a method for supplying constant voltage to an oxygen detector 8 having a solid electrochemical cell and a heater 4 from a separate power supply device 2 through lead wires 7-1-7-4, a resistor RH having the resistance value corresponding to that of a heating part obtained when the solid electrochemical cell reaches operation temp. is provided in the oxygen detector 3 or the power supply device 2 to compensate the voltage drop due to the lead wires. Detection auxiliary wires 9-1, 9-4 are respectively provided to two connection terminals 6-1, 6-4 for power supply of the oxygen detector 3 and guided to the power supply device 2 through lead wires 7-2, 7-3 to perform control so that the voltage across the auxiliary wires becomes constant within the power supply device 2. |
