PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for judging abnormality of a flame detector and a control method of a combustion apparatus. SOLUTION: A method for judging abnormality of a flame detector makes the judgment that the flame detector is abnormal when the oxygen concentration of an exhaust gas exceeds a predetermined set value and the flame detector outputs a flame detection signal. A control method of a combustion apparatus changes the flame extinction level of the flame detector when the oxygen concentration of the exhaust gas comes into a specified range.
