(Y)N:C(NH2)R4 [R1, R4 independently=Ph, chloro-, bromo-, fluoro-, C1-C3 alkyl, C1-C3 alkoxy, PhCH2, naphthyl, benzyl, pyridyl, quinolyl, furyl, thienyl, pyrimidinyl; R2, R3 independently=alkyl, alkoxyethyl, Ph, chloro-, bromo-, fluoro-, alkyl-, alkoxy-; Y=-N(CH2)nZ(CH2)m; n, m=1, 2, 3, and n+m=3-5; Z=CH2, O, S, SO, SO2, NH, NCH3 were prepd. and exhibited hypoglycemic activity. Thus, PhNHMe was treated with Buli (to give LINMePh), PhN:CCl2, and PhC(:NH)NH2 to give PhC(NH2):NC(:NPh)NMePh.
