<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device where appropriate processing for jamming can be carried out even with a simple construction. SOLUTION: This sheet carrying device is provided with a front cover and a side cover and when jamming occurs, a judgement on the situation of jamming processing is made based on detected results of sheet detection sensors installed in the sheet carrying path. When the judgement is made from the detected results of the sheet detection sensors that jamming processing should be carried out by opening the side cover, the front cover is locked. After this, when the opening and closing of the side cover is detected, another judgement is made of the situation of jamming processing based on the detected results of each sheet detection sensor. As a result, when judgement is made that the front cover can be opened, the locking of the front cover is released.</p> |
