PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an overload-preventing device that has a large capacity, is accurate, can be adjusted easily, and at the same time is compact and is inexpensive. SOLUTION: An overload-preventing device is mainly composed of a trunnion 1, a bolt 2, a fork end 3, an elastic body (belleville spring) 4, a lower washer 5 and a ring 6 with load scale being screwed to it, an upper washer 7, a nut 8, and a limit switch 12. Then, rope tension is applied to the fork end 3 via a sieve 10, a limit switch 12 operates in overloading, and a traction operation is stopped, thus preventing overloading.
