PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent running short of lubricating oil even during the high-speed rotation by providing a lubricating oil reservoir on an inner wall, providing the optical number of circulating grooves for lubricating oil on the metal periphery, and arranging connecting hole for the circulating grooves and the lubricating oil reservoir. SOLUTION: A herringbone groove 2 is formed on the inner wall of a bearing metal 1, a recessed lubricating oil reservoir 3 is provided, and a circulating space for lubricating oil 8 is formed out of an upper part 4 and a lower part 5 of the groove 2, longitudinal circulating grooves 6 for connecting them, and connecting holes 7 for connecting the circulating grooves to the lubricating oil reservoir 3. Lubricating oil 8 in the groove 2 is expanded by frictional heat by the rotation of a shaft and circulated in the circulating space. However, since the lubricating oil reservoir 3 and the circulating grooves 6 make lubricating oil 8 freely circulate through the connecting holes 7, the circulating efficiency is improved, lubricating oil 8 is stably supplied to the groove 2 even during the high-speed rotation of the shaft, and running short of lubricating oil is not generated. Therefore, heat generation, expansion, abrasion, galling and overflow on the inner wall of the bearing metal are prevented, and durability is drastically improved.
