PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an air content required for burning a thermally cracked gas discharged from a waste gasification oven, and to always stably and precisely control the combustion of the thermally cracked gas. SOLUTION: A combustible gas detection device is disposed in a chimney 52 used as a passage for a combustible gas 12 generated in a gasification oven 50, and a part of the combustible gas 12 and air 13 for combustion are introduced into a combustion appliance 11 constituting the combustible gas detection device. While the content of the air content 13 for combustion is changed with time, the combustible gas is burnt, and the temperature of the flame 15 is detected with a thermocouple 16. Thereby, the theoretical air content of the combustible gas can be detected.
