PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dial input device to enable a smooth click operation with a good feeling of operation. SOLUTION: The dial input device is provided with a dial 33 to be freely rotatably installed at a supporting member 2 and on which many kinds of characters are radially allocated and a click mechanism to rotate the dial 33 like a click corresponding to allocation of many kinds of the characters and the click mechanism is provided with a wavy surface part 283 which is continuously formed in the peripheral direction of the dial 33, a click ball 284 to be provided at the supporting member 2 and to be engaged in the wavy surface part 283, a ball groove 285 to be provided at the supporting member 2 and in which the click ball 284 is retractably stored and a coil spring 286 to be inserted into the ball groove 285 and to energize the click ball 284 toward the wavy surface part 283.
