摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix type display device constituted to execute information transmission to a planar display element, such as a liquid crystal panel or electroluminescence panel, by the effective utilization of optical communication. SOLUTION: The transmission of synchronizing signals from a synchronizing circuit 61 to respective scanning electrode drive circuits 41 is executed by the optical communication utilizing plural pairs of light emitting elements 42 and light receiving elements 44 corresponding to each other. The transmission of image data from a memory circuit 62 to respective signal electrode drive circuits 51 is executed by the optical communication utilizing plural pairs of the light emitting elements 52 and the light receiving elements 54 corresponding to each other. The wavelength of the emitted light of the light emitting element 42 of one signal transmission route varies from the wavelength of the emitted light of the light emitting element 42 of another signal transmission route with each of both signal transmission routes adjacent to each other among the signal transmission routes. As a result, the matrix drive of the display element by the optical communication is made possible without entailing the mutual interference by the light between both signal transmission routes adjacent to each other.
