PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a styrene-based resin composition excellent in mechanical characteristics and deflection temperature under load without deteriorating the transparency or surface properties. SOLUTION: This styrene-based resin composition contains a styrene-based resin and an intercalation compound which is prepared by mixing a swellable silicic salt with an amino compound in a dispersion medium. The amino compound is a 1-25C hydrocarbon compound which has at least one of one or more kinds of amino groups selected from the group consisting of primary, secondary and tertiary amino groups and may have one or more kinds of substituent groups selected from the group consisting of hydroxy group, mercapto group, ether group, carbonyl group, nitro group and chlorine atom.
