DAMPING DEVICE FOR DAMPING VIBRATION AMPLIFICATION OF SOUND WAVE FOR BURNER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assemble with an internal combustion engine and to provide turnability of easy behavior of a resonance to a burner by coupling a Helmholtz resonator directly to a mixing region of the burner so that a sound wave formed in the burner is not reversely reflected into the burner. SOLUTION: A mixing region 2 formed in a conical shape is directly continued to a combustor 1. A Helmholtz resonator 4 is directly provided at an end of the region 2 through a supply conduit 3 and coupled to the region 2 and the combustor 1 through an open volume. A sound wave generated in the combustor 1 or the region 2 is damped as initial through the resonator for suitably balancing a behavior of resonance of the burner. That is, a reflection of the wave advancing into the resonator 4 is damped as initial and not again reversely reflected into the burner.
